Arrival Students may arrive at school no earlier than 8:15 am. If you drive your child to school, please do not let your child out of the car until there is a staff member on duty to receive him/her. If you would like to walk your child to our classroom for the first few days of school, please feel free to do so, however you will need to stop by the office to sign in prior to coming to our classroom. In an effort to help your child gain independence, please begin to say your goodbyes at the main door after the first few days of school.
Your child should be inside the classroom no later than 8:45 and ready to begin his/her day. Rushing and arriving late can get the day started in a less than positive way. Students are tardy after 8:45 am. Please keep in mind that the students do have morning work daily, and when they rush in close to 8:45 each day, they do not have time to complete their assignments. Dismissal If there is EVER a change in the way your child will go home, I need to receive a written note. Please do not rely on email in lieu of a note because I may not have an opportunity to check email during the day. You may also contact the office, and they will notify me of any change as well. No child will be able to change the assigned plan to go home unless a note/call is received. Absences If or when your child is going to be absent, it is so helpful if you could email or send a note letting me know he/she will not be at school that day. If this is not possible, please send a note when he/she returns to school. We cannot count an absence as excused without a written note. Snack Please send a working snack to school each day such as: fruit, cheese, crackers, pretzels, vegetables, etc. We will be eating our snack in the afternoon. Your child may also bring in a water bottle to have with snack. Lunch Our lunch time is 11:25-11:55pm. It is important for your child to learn the lunch routines during the first few weeks. Our children love to have company for lunch, so feel free to join us whenever you can! However, please give us a few weeks to get settled in our routine. Parents may only eat with their child and not their child’s friends. Be sure to sign in at the office, and get a name tag. Please meet us in the cafeteria.
